The Old House were so named after a mutual love of Morrissey's cynical romanticism. Having fledged into a proper gigging band through supports with other Wakefield combos such as 10,000 Things, The Blueskins and The Cribs, the boys took up an offer from the Jarman brothers of the latter-mentioned beat group to record a string of demo recordings. Pretty well received they were too. 'Relationships Hooray' is taken from the third of these demonstration releases and shows the band heading towards a more Pavement-like sound. We thought this was utterly charming - I'm sure you will too.
